Long Island University
The Clinical Psychology Doctoral program at Long Island University prepares students to work with underserved people through psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral training and instruction. The first four years of the program involve 115 credit hours of instruction and clinical practicum, with more than 50 practicum sites available, followed by a full-time internship in the fifth year. Students have multiple opportunities throughout the program to work with and be mentored by faculty and other psychology experts and can choose electives from one of four concentrations: dialectical behavior therapy, assessment & treatment of substance abuse use disorders, serious mental illnesses, and interventions with high-risk families.
<h2 id="section---MedailleCollege">Medaille College</h2><p>Medaille College has a 99-credit-hour Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program at their Buffalo campus which prepares students for effective roles in clinical practice through a practitioner-scholar model. The program includes twice-per-week classes, which explore a variety of clinical psychology topics, a one-year internship, and allows students to add an optional concentration in general adult clinical psychology or child & family psychology.
</p><h2 id="section---PaceUniversity">Pace University</h2><p>The Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology program at Pace University integrates academics and clinical practice through a practitioner-scholar approach, training students in assessment methods, counseling techniques, as well as interventions. The program consists of 110 credit hours of coursework and field practice, an internship in the final year (internships are paid when available), and enables students to also earn a Master of Science in Education in School Psychology within the Psy.D. coursework (if not already earned).
</p><h2 id="section---YeshivaUniversity">Yeshiva University</h2><p>The Clinical Psychology Psy.D program at Yeshiva University consists of 116 credit hours completed through four years of practicum experiences and coursework followed by a one-year full-time internship in the fifth and final year. Students can choose to use electives to minor areas such as in geropsychology, clinical health psychology, family & couples therapy, trauma studies, research methodology & statistics, clinical neuropsychology, or addictions. Students can alternatively pursue a Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology (116 credit hours, 5 years) as well as add a bilingual extension to their degree by completing five required courses.
