About
About Southern Technical College
Southern Technical College is a private institution with campuses in the central Florida cities of Orlando, Fort Myers, Tampa, and Port Charlotte as well as Sanford, Brandon, and Auburndale. The college offers a blend of traditional and innovative programs with hands-on training opportunities to ensure students are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills their career option requires.
Students interested in a medical career can choose an associate's degree program in nursing, which prepares students for the national certification exam, or one of several allied health programs. These options include diploma and 2-year degree programs in areas such as diagnostic medical sonography, medical assisting, surgical technician, medical billing and coding technology, and medical laboratory technician. Most of these programs include a clinical externship, in addition to classroom and lab classes, to give students the opportunity to apply what they have learned in an actual health care setting.
Other program options include a veterinary assisting diploma and associate's degrees in interior design and management; a fully online bachelor's degree in management is also offered. Associate's degree and diploma technical training programs are also available to ready students for careers as welders, HVAC technicians, or electricians through intensive hands-on and classroom studies. All of the courses at Southern Technical College are taught by experienced instructors with industry-specific experience and not just textbook knowledge.

While on my externship, I used every lesson from her class. I felt prepared. I advanced quickly while at my site. I appreciate the school's focus on employment preparation.
