12-Month ABSN Programs in New Jersey: Accelerated Nursing Online

Several colleges and universities in New Jersey offer fast-track Bachelor of Science in nursing degrees, some with flexible online courses for busy students.

Two types of degrees offer pathways to becoming a registered nurse (RN). Students can opt for an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). ADNs are faster, but having a BSN has a lot of benefits, like allowing you to earn a higher salary and preparing you for graduate school.

To help students reach their goals faster, many schools offer fast track nursing programs online, some of which take just a year. Keep reading to learn about 12-month accelerated nursing programs in New Jersey.

What Is a 12-Month ABSN Program?

An accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) is a BSN degree that you can complete faster than normal, which allows you to become a certified registered nurse more quickly.

Most of these programs allow students to finish in less than 18 months. While 12-month programs aren't the most common, they do exist and are highly intensive. Some schools offer these fast-track nursing programs online.

These are commonly available to students who already have a non-nursing bachelor's degree, allowing them to earn a second degree in nursing. However, some schools offer this option to students who have completed all general education and prerequisite courses.

Several degree paths allow you to earn your nursing degree and, therefore, your RN license. Depending on your previous schooling, an ABSN may be the quickest way to become a nurse for you.
