Widener University

About Widener University

Located in Chester, PA, Widener University is an accredited private school that was founded in 1821. The school offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs that prepare students to lead, inspire, and engage others as well as to contribute to their community. Widener also offers three of its high-quality programs online. These online programs are designed to help students become leaders and gain the specialized skills needed to advance their careers.

Online students can consider the school's Registered Nurse-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program or its Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs. These programs have all earned individual program-specific accreditation. The online MBA is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) has accredited the online MSW, and the RN to BSN program has earned accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

The online programs have small classes and are taught by many of the same experienced faculty who teach on campus. The courses integrate emerging trends and industry skills and often emphasize hands-on learning or offer options for on-the-job experience. Online students are able to communicate and interact with their teachers and classmates using online tools like discussion boards, chat rooms, and email.

''The Health care MBA at Widener has been invaluable in my career. I used the skills and techniques learned in class in my job, often before the semester was even over.''

- Jim Beinlich, MBA Graduate

''It is more than obvious that the faculty really care about what they are doing. It is apparent that they really want to see their students succeed. My professors have been so encouraging and always push me to challenge myself and take opportunities to practice my skills.''

- Leigh Ann Williams, MSW Student

''My program manager was wonderful. Very informative and answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly. I could not be happier with my enrollment experience…So far I have had nothing but great experiences with Widener's faculty. Everyone has been over-the-top nice and always helpful when I had a question.''

- Dezaray Martin, RN-BSN Student
