Topics in the required coursework address elements and use of language; human growth and development; the economic, social, and political development of the state of California; personal and community health issues; geographic features, histories, and cultures of different regions; and the role of minorities in the developed of the United States. Courses are also selected in humanities, which will cover interrelations of art, history, art, music, literature, and philosophy, and literature, where you will choose from courses discussing children's literature or young adult/adolescent literature.
