UMass Global offers multiple bootcamps focused on information technology and computer science, including a cyber security bootcamp.

UMass Global's Online Cyber Security Bootcamp

The Cyber Security Bootcamp at UMass Global is offered through the School of Extended Education and trains students in the fundamentals of cybersecurity.

The program includes 55 technical laboratories and 30 mini-projects that teach students to identify errors and improve a product or service's quality.

Students work with personal cyber security mentors and have one-on-one video calls to fine-tune projects, address obstacles, and discuss their professional goals.

While the bootcamp is mentor-led, it is ultimately self-paced. Most students finish in six months when studying 10-15 hours per week, but students can finish early by putting in more hours each week.

The curriculum is made up of 30 learning units that include:

  • An introductory unit
  • 12 technical units
  • Two basic priming units: a Cybersecurity Basics unit and a Cybersecurity Fundamentals unit
  • The seven fundamentals of cybersecurity
  • A capstone project
  • A CompTIA Security+ Preparation Unit
  • Six career preparation units
