How to Become an Armed Security Guard

Becoming an armed security guard is different than becoming an unarmed security guard. The process usually takes longer and has more requirements. A good first step could be to become an unarmed security guard to gain experience. Unarmed security guards must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass a background check, receive on-the-job training, and obtain security guard registration for their state, which is usually granted once training is complete.
