West Virginia University

In addition to studying legal analysis, medical malpractice, child protection, civil procedure and art law, you'll need to attend a research seminar as a JD student. Subjects to choose from include intellectual property, criminal procedure, environmental law and others. The curriculum also includes independent study and travel abroad opportunities to Mexico and Brazil. During your third year at West Virginia University, you can enroll in the College of Law's clinical law program to gain work experience. The program also has a variety of clinic options, including entrepreneurship law, land use and sustainable development law, immigration law and child and family advocacy.

This dual-degree program provides preparation for a career offering legal support to court administrators, government agencies and non-profit organizations. It's recommended that you complete the foundational MPA courses the semester before beginning law school.
