BSN to MSN Programs in New Jersey (NJ)

College of Saint Elizabeth

The College of Saint Elizabeth has an MSN program for current nurses which consists of 36 credit hours of instruction, including a capstone practicum experience. The MSN can be specialized in either Nursing Education, for students who wish to pursue training and academic roles, or Nursing Leadership, for students who may pursue leadership and administrative positions.

Fairleigh Dickinson University

Fairleigh Dickenson University's MSN program is available nurses with at least one year of clinical work experience; the program can be completed online or at either of FDU's campuses. The online MSN program has a specialization in Advanced Nursing Educator Role, for students interested in teaching nurse programs; the Florham campus allows students to specialize in either Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; and the Metropolitan Campus location allows students to specialize in one of the following areas: Nurse Educator, Nursing Administration, Nursing Information Systems, Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner - Administrative or Education focus, Adult Gerontology Forensic Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Family Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Felician University

The MSN program available at Felician University can be completed online or on-site and specialized to fit the interests of students. The online MSN program takes around two years and has a concentration in Nursing Administration, while the on-campus program takes around three years and can be specialized in either Family Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care or Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care.

Kean University

Students can take advantage of studying at Kean University's main campus or their Tom's River campus with this MSN program. It can be specialized in either Nurse Leadership, for students who may pursue administrative nursing positions, or Community Health Nursing, for those who are interested in clinical practice. Depending on which specialization students choose, they will complete between 32 and 39 credits.

Monmouth University

Monmouth University's MSN program allows students the opportunity to specialize in one of the following areas: Forensic Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, School Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or Adult-Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. With hybrid studying options available, students will complete around 36-48 credit hours, depending on specific specialization.

Ramapo College of New Jersey

Ramapo College of New Jersey has an MSN program available to experienced consisting of 33 to 49 credits. The program is delivered through online instruction with some hybrid components. Students can specialize their MSN curriculum in either Nursing Education, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Nursing Administration.

Rutgers University

Rutgers University hosts MSN programs at the following campuses; Newark, New Brunswick, and Blackwood. The MSN curriculum can be specialized in Informatics (37 credits) or leadership (42 credits) to prepare graduates for positions working with patient information or working as transformational leaders.

Saint Peter's University

Students can complete an MSN in either Primary Care: Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Saint Peter's University. The program prepares nurses for advanced practice roles caring for the adult population and emphasizes research and specialty practice. The program requires the completion of 39 credit hours, which could take as little as 2.5 years.

The College of New Jersey

The College of New Jersey's MSN program can be specialized in both practice and administrative concentrations, depending on student interests. The options for MSN concentration are School Nurse, Clinical Nurse Leader, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner for Certified Nurse Practitioners, and Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Depending on the specialization, students will need to complete anywhere from 30 to 47 credits over the four-year course.

William Paterson University of New Jersey

William Paterson University of New Jersey offers an MSN program to experienced nurses, which consists of 34 to 47 credit hours. The MSN program can be specialized in one of four areas: Family Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care, Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, and Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care.
