Founded in 1870, Colorado State University (CSU) was originally known as the Agricultural College of Colorado. The school now enrolls 28,882 students that come from all 50 U.S. states and about 80 foreign countries. CSU has a student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1.

A variety of bachelor's degree programs are available to students in fields like agricultural business, chemistry and technical journalism. Master's and doctoral degree programs are also offered, such as the Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture and the Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics. Colorado State University's veterinary medicine program, leading to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, was rated number two in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

Enrollment Process and Information

Among other documentation, SAT or ACT scores and transcripts from previous high school and college education must be submitted. Colorado State University also requires each candidate to complete a personal statement. Applicants wishing to enter the most competitive majors, such as art, computer science, business and engineering, may be required to demonstrate higher grade point averages and test scores than those wishing to the competitive majors.
