What Is a Marketing Design Degree?
In a marketing design degree program, you learn how to reach an audience through a variety of mediums. Marketing designers frequently create graphic advertisements for newspapers, magazines and journals, but may also create advertisements for web pages, such as social media sites. In your program, you can learn how to assess what a company's target audience is and how best to reach them. You can earn a variety of degrees, ranging from an associate's to a master's in marketing design or related majors. You can also receive advertising design training in a certificate program, although this will not lead to a degree.

</p><h3 id="section---WhatClassesWillITake">What Classes Will I Take?</h3><p>Many of the classes that you take increase your skills as a designer, and others focus on the business aspects of marketing design. Some examples of classes include:

</p><h3 id="section---CanIEarnMyDegreeOnline">Can I Earn My Degree Online?</h3><p>Although many programs only offer on-campus degrees, you may also be able to earn your degree online. You can earn the same degrees online that you can on-campus, and the classes you take will also be similar. Online programs may not provide as many hands-on opportunities as on-campus programs, but the schedule for taking classes may be more flexible. Keep in mind that while some online programs can be found at not-for-profit schools, many are offered by for-profit schools.

You can work as a freelancer, gaining employment on a job-to-job basis, or you may work for an advertising company. The degree that you earn determines the jobs that are available to you when first entering the field. Those with higher degrees have more job possibilities. Earning a higher degree may also put you on a faster path to promotion, but experience and production will also play a large role in determining how you progress in a company.</p>
