How Can I Work in Global Marketing?

Undergraduate Education

Though some degrees in global marketing do exist, those interested in pursuing this field typically earn at least a bachelor's degree in business or marketing. In these types of programs, students learn how to apply marketing principles, as well as how to control communication within a company and how to identify global trends within the industry. Since global marketers must be able to communicate across cultural lines, international studies are an important part of the typical curriculum.

The rest of the curriculum usually covers topics in marketing, such as promotions, advertising, product positioning, research, consumer behavior and psychology. Many regular marketing and business degree programs include courses in global marketing.

Graduate Studies

Some schools also offer master's degree programs in international business, which typically allow students to take specialized courses in global marketing.
