What Can I Learn In Apprenticeship Programs?
The National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee works with local colleges to qualify students to become certified journeymen. After you complete the training program and fulfill on the job work requirements, you can take certification exams to earn your journeyman credential.
Your training can include the proper use and care of carpentry tools, building code standards and building site evaluations. You can receive comprehensive training in reading blueprints, structural framing and workplace safety. In associate degree programs, you'll need to fulfill general education requirements in English, math and science and earn at least 60 credits to complete the degree.
