The Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center, operated by the Poplar Bluff School District, trains students for careers in a variety of occupations. In the cosmetology program, you'll learn the techniques of shampooing, hair cutting and styling, permanent wave and relaxing processes as well as hair coloring. Manicuring and hand and arm massage are included as are safety and sanitation, diseases of the scalp and business practices. You can take additional hours of training to expand your licensing options.

Warrensburg Area Career Center

The Warrensburg Area Career Center, operated by the Warrensburg School District, provides career training programs for youths and adults. The cosmetology program includes classroom instruction and practical sessions that cover areas on the Missouri cosmetology licensing test such as workstation sterilization, anatomy and physiology, shampooing, hair coloring, waving treatments, nail care and facials. After you earn your cosmetology license, you can return to the career center for 300 additional hours of training to become a cosmetology instructor.
