The 2-year hospitality management and culinary education program at this suburban college offers three Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees, all of which entail additional general education requirements. The hotel and lodging management program prepares you for entry-level jobs in hotel management, such as that of department supervisor or manager trainee. Your coursework for this program will include housekeeping operations, food sanitation, business math, front office management, hotel accounting, supervisory management, hotel sales and marketing, managerial accounting and public speaking.

In the 3-year chef apprenticeship program, the first in the country to receive accreditation from the American Culinary Federation Educational Institute, you can take courses such as food service sanitation, nutrition and menu planning, American regional cuisine and beverage control. Integral to the program is a 6,000-hour apprenticeship through the American Culinary Federation Educational Institute. The program includes 1 summer session.

Courses in the 2-year food and beverage management program are designed to prepare you to enter the restaurant business as an assistant manager or trainee. You'll study food and beverage purchasing, hospitality cost accounting, professional cooking, design and facilities management and food service sales. You'll also have the option of undertaking a hospitality management internship.
