The following four Florida schools offer practical nursing certificate programs in order to prepare graduates to pass the licensing examination. Take a look at common prerequisites, admissions requirements and program tuition costs.

What You Need to Know

Floridians interested in becoming licensed practical nurses (LPNs) may choose to earn the certificate required to be licensed from a number of two-year public schools in the area. Programs may be completed in 11-16 months, depending on the institution. Because nursing certificate programs include an element of hands-on practicum training, students must provide liability insurance, pass background checks and drug screenings, and/or supply current immunization records. Following program completion, graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses before beginning work.
