If you are interested in the architecture degree programs offered in Texas, this article provides fundamental information on four public and private colleges and the programs they offer.

What You Need to Know

If you are looking to become an architect, you have a few different educational paths available to you. Schools in Texas offer both Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Architecture programs. A B.Arch program is a professional, 5-6 year program that can prepare you to become licensed and work as an architect. A B.S. in Architecture is a 4-year program that can prepare you to enroll in a professional master's degree program in architecture. Graduate programs in architecture can be designed either for students who hold a bachelor's degree in the field (in which case, they take roughly one year to complete) or for students who hold a bachelor's degree in a field besides architecture (in which case, they take about three years to complete). In both cases, completing a master's degree program in architecture will also prepare you to earn your architecture license.
