MBA Programs in Texas With No GMAT Requirement

Several schools throughout Texas offer Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs with no GMAT required for admission. Students may be able to choose a concentration within their MBA program such as finance or marketing. Schools offering Business degrees can also be found in these popular choices.

Amberton University

Amberton University has Master of Business Administration programs available in accounting, general business, management, international business, strategic leadership, and project management. The programs consist of 36 credit hours and allow students to transfer up to 12 credit hours of qualifying coursework.

Concordia University Texas

The Master of Business Administration program at Concordia University Texas can be completed on campus via once-per-week courses and/or online. Students can choose a generalized MBA focused in innovation and entrepreneurship (30 credit hours), or take two additional courses for an added concentration in healthcare administration (36 credit hours) or organizational development and learning (36 credit hours).

Houston Baptist University

Houston Baptist University has a 36-credit-hour Master of Business Administration program that offers courses four nights per week as well as online. Students can choose a concentration in marketing, organizational development and change, entrepreneurship, accounting, international business, or general management.

Howard Payne University

At Howard Payne University, students can earn a Master of Business Administration completely online and choose an MBA concentration in marketing, finance, or international business. The program consists of 30 credit hours and allows students to transfer in up to six credit hours of qualifying coursework.

Our Lady of the Lake University

Our Lady of the Lake University's Master of Business Administration program features 16-week courses that meet on campus every other weekend (8 meetings per semester). Students are required to complete 36 credit hours with a concentration in management or healthcare management and can also pursue a dual degree of Master of Science in Organizational Leadership by completing an additional 18 credit hours.

Saint Edward's University

Students in the Master of Business Administration program at Saint Edward's University complete much of their coursework online and attend Saturday networking and classroom experiences three times during each eight-week session. The program consists of a total of 39 credit hours (36 credits for students who hold a Bachelor of Business Administration) and offers concentrations in finance, operations and supply chain management, and digital management.

Southern Methodist University

Southern Methodist University has a one-year MBA program (44 credit hours) and a two-year MBA program (67 credit hours) that follow a cohort model, and have 13 concentration options, including business analytics, corporate finance, and information and operations. SMU also has an Executive MBA program that takes 21 months to complete through Friday and Saturday courses every other week, 48 credit hours, a cohort model, and one required international experience in the fourth term of the program.

Southwestern Assemblies of God University

The 36-credit-hour Master of Business Administration program at Southwestern Assemblies of God University explores various topics, including global business, finance, and organizational strategy. The program has been offered in a cohort with a specific course rotation, but in 2020 the program will offer more flexibility so that students can finish in as few as 12 months as well as begin the program at six points throughout each year.

St. Mary's University

The MBA for Professionals program at St. Mary's University consists of 30 credit hours, evening classes, and can be completed in 12 to 36 months. Students can choose one of five concentrations, including compliance and health management, and can also pursue a dual degree of Master of Arts in International Business and Economics by completing one semester abroad in Germany.

Wayland Baptist University

Students can earn a Master of Business Administration at one of six Wayland Baptist University campuses in Texas. The program consists of 48 credit hours and offers concentrations in international management, accounting, management, general business, healthcare administration, management information systems, human resource management, and project management.

Admissions Information for MBA Programs with No GMAT Requirement in Texas

MBA programs in Texas that do not require the GMAT entrance exam do require applicants to have earned a bachelor's degree; although many programs accept any degree, some may require students to have a bachelor's degree in fields such as business, marketing, or accounting. Programs may require students to have completed some prerequisite coursework in their undergraduate studies such as statistics, marketing, accounting, and management. Depending on the chosen school and program, students may be required to have earned a specific GPA on their undergraduate coursework (such as a 3.0). Some schools may also require, or prefer, candidates to have applicable work experience in management or a similar role. Other admittance requirements typically include references (or letters of recommendation), a resume, and a personal essay expressing educational and career goals.

Students can pursue a Master of Business Administration at one of several schools throughout Texas without being required to take the GMAT.
