Traditional Learning vs. MyPath

Most of the programs at UMass Global are offered in a traditional online format, where courses last eight weeks and the pace is set by the instructor.

Traditional programs have six start dates a year, allowing you to take a term or two off if life gets too hectic.

However, many of the business and IT programs are also available in the university's flexible, self-paced format called MyPath.

This is a competency-based education program that allows students to work through the coursework on their own time, without set deadlines.

MyPath programs incorporate the latest learning technology to create customized, adaptive programs that allow you to move quickly through material you already know and spend more time on concepts you need to learn.

Students can take as many courses as they like, completing as many competencies as possible during each billing period.
