General Information about Universal Technical Institute

Accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, Universal Technical Institute (UTI) was established in 1965.

The school offers programs in automotive, diesel, marine, and motorcycle technologies. Although the institute is made up of 15 campuses, not all programs are conducted at each location. The campuses in Phoenix, Arizona, and Orlando, Florida, are the only ones that offer motorcycle training, while a second campus in Orlando is the only one that offers maritime technology programs. The campus in Mooresville, North Carolina, offers automotive training as well as a NASCAR Technology elective. In addition to training leading to diplomas or certificates in the various technology disciplines, each branch of the institute is associated with one or more manufacturers, such as Ford, Toyota, GM and Mopar. Graduate courses offered by these manufacturers deal solely with the technologies of their individual products and vehicles.
