As an admissions representative, you might also have extensive contact with students and their families, which could include answering questions about the college or university, advising students on program selections and arranging campus visits. </p><p>Your main duty is to admit students to the college to form a student body that has the grades, test scores and characteristics desired by the school. When working in the admissions office, you are often the first person students make contact with at the school; therefore, you must project a positive and helpful attitude. Employers want you to easily be able to interact with students and recruit students to the school in order to boost admission figures. For instance, you could work in student affairs, where you would coordinate nonacademic programs and set up athletic events and recreational activities. Alternatively, you might be interested in becoming a representative for another type of organization, such as a press secretary for a government agency.
