Students interested in a career in physical therapy have two educational paths from which to choose: earning an associate degree to work as a physical therapy assistant or earning a doctorate to work as a physical therapist. The doctoral degrees in physical therapy may be completed in three years; are offered by four-year, public schools; and are open only to individuals holding bachelor's degrees in a related field.
